RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES OF EDITORS AND EDITORIAL BOARD
MEMBERS OF BIOSCIENCE BIOTECHNOLOGY RESEARCH COMMUNICATIONS
- Technical Evaluation:
- On receiving the manuscript, the first and foremost step is to assess the submitted manuscript from a technical point of view, in compliance with the journal’s policies: aims and scope, and its conformity with guidelines/instructions for authors, particularly from the point of view of plagiarism and similarity levels.
- Manuscripts that do not comply with editorial requirements are returned for technical corrections. In case they are not in general and basic compliance, having more than 20 % similarity scores, or are in violation of ethical considerations, they are rejected.
- Screening of plagiarism is mandatory for all submitted articles, which is checked by Cross Ref Similarity Check / iThenticate /Turnitin software.
- When the technical/formal evaluation is completed, the manuscript proceeds to the next stage of scientific evaluation.
- Scientific and Editorial Evaluation
- Evaluation from the point of view of scientific quality is provided by the executive/associate editors of subject/thematic sections.
- Based on the result of the preliminary evaluation from the point of view of scientific quality, the manuscript is either rejected, returned for corrections or moved to the review process.
- If the requested changes are made, the text returns to the team of editors. When the scientific evaluation of the submitted work is completed, the peer-review process is initiated.
- Peer Review Process
- Bioscience Biotechnology Research Communications follows peer blind reviews, with two independent reviewers.
- If necessary (in case there are any differences between review reports), a third reviewer will be invited. The results of peer review can be acceptance, acceptance with minor or major modifications, or rejection.
- Once the requested changes /corrections are made, the text returns to the managing / executive editors / associate editors, who discuss the articles with the Chief Editor for final decision.
- An acceptance letter is issued to the authors with the final decision of the reviewers, informing them of the changes and points of revision.
- Licensing and Copyright: The Journal, Bioscience Biotechnology Research Communications, is open-access, licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, with the authors and others having the copyright to reuse without any embargo with proper citations.
MAIN EDITORIAL TEAM & THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES
Chief Editor: Guides the overall strategy and progress of the journal, is responsible for all final decisions, maintains the quality of the content, and devises strategies for the progress of the journal. He is primarily responsible for the right of final acceptance or rejection of manuscripts.
Executive Editors: They will direct the processing of the manuscripts, assessing their suitability concerning the peer review process, coordinating with the reviewers and board members, making decisions on the revised submissions, and occasionally assisting the Editor-in-Chief in final acceptance or rejection of manuscripts regarding the scientific rigour of the editorial content.
Associate Editors: Their role is in handling in reporting to the Executive Editors, and overall supervision of the editorial team, assigning articles, overseeing publication schedules, and other matters related to the smooth functioning of the journal.
Managing Editors: They are responsible for assisting the Executive and Associate Editors in assessing the suitability and scope of the manuscript with respect to managing submissions and the peer review process, devising strategies for the progress of the journal, coordinating with the reviewers, and the editorial board members.
Editorial Assistants: Responsible for handling day-to-day administrative tasks, correspondence with the authors, and overseeing the technical management of the journal, assisting in its timely production and quality as per the journal’s policies.
Honorary Editorial Board: The august body of International and National Editorial Board members with their subject expertise and experience is the most important for the overall quality of the journal. They provide strategic guidance and expert advice on the journal’s direction, scope, and development.
The distinguished board members are offering insights and recommendations on content areas, trends, and emerging topics. They help to review manuscripts, providing constructive feedback and recommending revisions. By fulfilling these duties, Honorary International and National Expert Editorial Board members play a crucial role in shaping the journal’s direction, ensuring quality, and promoting excellence in scientific publishing.
